How to choose a gymnastic ball

Gymnastic balls have a number of uses, primarily as a rehabilitation aid or as a replacement for a classic office chair. They help prevent health problems such as muscle and back pain and constantly force us to maintain a natural and healthy posture. Gymnastic balls are suitable for everyone, from children and adults to seniors.

Choosing the right size

When purchasing a ball, it is important not to underestimate the correct size. There are two common ways to estimate the correct diameter of a ball:

1. Arm length from shoulder to fingertips

  • 56 – 65 cm – 55 cm ball
  • 66 – 80 cm – 65 cm ball
  • 81 – 90 cm – 75 cm ball
  • 91 cm and above – 85 cm ball

Also take your body weight into account. If you weigh over 100 kg, a ball with a larger diameter will be more suitable for you.

Choosing the right size

Remember that inflating the ball with your mouth will not get you very far. Save your lungs and use a classic pump or handheld compressor to inflate the ball. Only inflate the ball when it has been warmed to room temperature to avoid damaging the outer or inner shell.

Now you know what you need to know before buying a ball. All that’s left is to take a look at our range of ACRA balls and choose the right one for you.
